Create and Restore a Server Backup
It is recommended that you do backups of your server in case of data loss or griefing. We do not guarantee backups, so it is your responsibility to have your own backups.
Note: The Multicraft backup only backs up the main world on your server. To backup other files, please use a backup plugin instead (can be found at dev.bukkit.org).
1. Login to the Multicraft control panel then click on "Files > Backup" on the left bar.
2. Click on the "Start" button to start the backup.
A zip file will be created of the current world that is being used by your Minecraft Server. You can download this zip file to your computer for a backup if you wish, using an FTP program such as FileZilla, otherwise you can just leave it as is.
Once you have created a backup of your server a copy will be kept on the server with the name 'world.zip' As you create multiple backups these will be numbered 'world1.zip', 'world2.zip' etc. Only 10 backups allowed, once this is reached any new backups will overwrite the oldest file. Also when making a backup you are given the option to download these as seen below. It is recommended to take regular backups of your server. Please note that backups only include world files and do not include plugins or configuration files.
To restore your backup file, just do the following:
Preparation:
You need to prepare your files for the restore first. You will either want to move all world files in your server to an empty directory (i.e. make a new folder called "old_files", etc) or delete those files. If you try to restore and you havent renamed the current world or deleted it, the restore will not work.
1. Login to the Multicraft control panel then click on "Files > Backup" on the left bar.
2. Click on the "Restore" button on the left bar.
3. Select the backup file you want to restore.
Note: Since the backup does not backup plugins and various other files, it is recommended that you manually back those up by downloading them to your computer via FTP. You can also skip the Multicraft backup feature completely and simply use a backup plugin which can be found at dev.bukkit.org.
